I'm gonna be living in a HOSTEL
Alright...before you guys start hurling me questions like "What? How can you possibly stay in the hostel?" or "Are you out of your mind?" or "Are you kidding me?", let me explain ok?
Reasons why I chose to stay in the hostel :
1) I can make friends with oth new students..which the management of the hostel arranged so that all new BPharm students will be living together.
2)They provide furniture and some light cooking equipment, so for the time being I don't have to buy them yet.
3)There is a female warden who checks up on you everyday and when you get sick you can ask her to take you to the doc.
4)I get to mingle with ppl my age or probably in the same class whereas in private accomodation my housemates could be just anyone.
5)They will automatically pay for my water and electric bills so I need not worry bout them while I'm trying to settle down
Reasons why I'm not thrilled by living in the hostel :
1)There is a curfew and its at 10pm....why is it so freakin' early?How bout leisure time out with friends?
2)There is no internet line in the hostel. I have to walk to IMU and use its library where it opens til 10pm exactly the time of my curfew...and might I ask...wat if I need to do my assignment and I need to use the internet til l8r at night? have they thought of it?
3)The corridor and the staircase is kind aspooky where the lights are a little dim...i mean whats wrong with the structure of the building...why do we need to go up 2 flights of stairs before reaching the lift?I mean it is a pretty long corridor and at night i can only imagone it being dark and deserted...my mum's worried bout being mugged or confronted by a stranger...but I'm more concern bout meeting the dead-yet-alive beings.I need to go to a temple and pray and get some amulet or smth.....laugh all you want but my imagination has the tendency to run when i'm alone in dark deserted places.
So ppl...what do you think?pros and cons...

Hostel might be fun after all.Hopefully you can make loads of friends.
The curfew kinda sucks tho.
Make sure you don't walk alone in the dark alleys.
But sth tells me you're gonna be moving out after the first sem =D
Definitely...even if I dun, they'll boot me out cause only first sem students are allowed to stay there.
nah... those curfew.. they're not real... you don't expect anything..
trust me, when you're there... things is going to be different than what they say
Oh really?Haha...its good to hear.Now I'm having some questions bout food....I mean i cant be eating cafeteria food everyday.But I have to go to the next town and I'm a little anxious bout getting to the next town
im there ma... u'll get use to the canteen food thou.. im half an hour away thou.. but can't bring u everyday.. maybe once or twice a week nia

Hostel might not be the best deal around. But maybe a good way to start off. And yea nobody follows the curfew.
They have caterers around here. I dont cater though. I'm one of the sad cases that feeds of the cafe EVERYDAY =(
No worries about not havin friends.I'm around and I have friends in pharm as well(senior by a batch).I'll introduce and get them to cover you.
Block B-1 is kinda scary I agree. Just stick with friends. I'm in B2. Hmmm have I answered all your ques? Keep them coming. I'll be keeping an eye on my emailbox.
